Maattrraan is a 2012 Tamil action thriller film directed and co-written by K. V. Anand and scripted by Subha. It stars Suriya, portraying conjoined twins, along with Kajal Aggarwal. The film is to be released on Independence Day in India which is August 15th, 2012 along with a dubbed Telugu version titled Duplicate.

Maattrraan is touted to become Suriya’s biggest release till date. The Telugu distribution rights were sold to Bellamkonda Suresh’s Multi Dimensional Films for a record price. The Karnataka theatrical rights were sold to ‘Mandya’ Srikanth. The distribution rights of the Tamil version were bagged by Eros International. Maattrraan is currently scheduled to release on August 15, 2012.
