| Making for another action-packed year’s ceremony, the 2011 MTV European Music Awards have come to a close after a stirring show in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Sunday (November 6). With Selena Gomez tending to hosting duties, the big winner this time around ended up being Lady Gaga, who won four trophies including Best Song for “Born This Way,” as well as Best Video, Best Female and Biggest Fans.
Held at the Odyssey Arena, other triumphant acts included Justin Bieber and Katy Perry while performers such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bruno Mars, Coldplay and LMFAO treated the crowd to energetic stage efforts. Other highlights of the night included a tribute to the late singer Amy Winehouse performed via a touching video tribute by Jessie J.
Meanwhile, Queen was doted with the Global Icon award handed out by Miss Perry - with band members Brian May and Roger Taylor joined by Adam Lambert for a medley including “‘The Show Must Go On,” “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions”.
