In March, Taylor, an emergency medical technician from Louisville, was killed by police officers after they forcefully and mistakenly entered her home on a drug warrant. Taylor was shot more than eight times and would have turned 27 years old earlier this month. Since her death, Louisville has passed Breonna’s Law, which bans no-knock warrants in the city. The three officers involved in her death, however, have yet to be fired, arrested, or charged with murder.
“Three months have passed—and the LMPD’s investigations have created more questions than answers,” wrote Beyoncé. “Their incident report states that Ms. Taylor suffered no injuries—yet we know she was shot at least eight times. The LMPD officers claim they announced themselves before forcing their way into Ms. Taylor’s apartment—but her boyfriend who was with her, as well as several neighbors, all say that this is untrue.”
